OTTAWA — For the final contest of their 2019 campaign, the Ottawa REDBLACKS will have a few notable contributors return to the lineup.

Defensive back Antoine Pruneau and running back John Crockett will be back for the team’s game on Friday against the Montreal Alouettes.

Pruneau has spent his entire six-year career as a member of the red and black. The team selected him with the fourth overall pick in the 2014 CFL Draft, and he’s become a fan favourite and defensive staple for the team In 92 career games, the Montreal, QC., native has collected 316 tackles, four sacks, nine interceptions and a forced fumble.

He was injured on the opening kick-off of the REDBLACKS’ Week 13 clash with the Toronto Argonauts, and while he tried to play through the pain, he collapsed in the end zone during a defensive stand and needed to be helped off the field. He was spotted on the sideline shortly after sporting a walking boot.

After the game, there was a possibility that the 30-year-old was going to miss the remainder of the season with the injury.

Crockett, 27, has been out of action since Week 11 due to injury. He took over the starting job in the REDBLACKS’ backfield in Week 6 and had four straight games rushing for over 70 yards.

In Crockett’s absence, the team turned to Mossis Madu Jr., Brendan Gillanders, and Greg Morris at different points.

Ottawa will also see another change at quarterback for their final game, as Dominique Davis will be the man starting under centre.

Receiver Dominique Rhymes, defensive back Chris Randle, linebacker Kevin Francis, and defensive linemen J.R. Tavai and Shaneil Jenkins were all moved to the one-game injured list.

The REDBLACKS will welcome the Als to TD Place on Friday night to kick off Week 21 action. The East Division foes will kick off at 7:00 p.m. ET.
