Report: Collaros taking first-team reps at Bombers practice

The Canadian Press

WINNIPEG — When the Winnipeg Blue Bombers took to the field for practice on Wednesday, it was Zach Collaros who was the man getting first-team reps, according to Bombers radio voice Bob Irving.

Collaros returned to action in the Bombers’ Week 20 victory at home over the Calgary Stampeders. In the win, he completed 78 percent of his passes for 221 yards and a pair of touchdown passes — one of which was a highlight reel toss on the run to Darvin Adams in the corner of the end zone.

That performance did enough to start the conversation of him being the team’s starter in the postseason.

Irving also added that Chris Streveler returned to the practice field on Wednesday.

Through 17 games this season, Streveler has thrown for 1,564 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 726 rushing yards and an additional 12 majors on 127 carries.

The Bombers will travel to McMahon Stadium for their Western Semi-Final clash with the Stampeders. Kick-off between the teams is slated for 4:30 p.m. ET.
