Lions ink Durant to extension through 2021

VANCOUVER — The BC Lions and receiver Lemar Durant have agreed to a contract extension that will see him stick with the team through the 2021 campaign.

Durant was a key free-agent signing for the Lions this past offseason. The 27-year-old had spent the previous four seasons with the Calgary Stampeders, hauling in 102 catches for 1,280 yards and eight touchdowns in 51 career games.

In his first campaign as a member of the Leos, Durant racked up 57 catches for 810 yards and five touchdowns. With his efforts this season, the Vancouver, B.C., native was named the Lions’ candidate for Most Outstanding Canadian.

The Lions now have Durant and top option Bryan Burnham locked up for next season.
