MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes have formally asked permission of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to interview Danny McManus for their vacant General Manager post, this according to Farhan Lalji of TSN.
The former Hall of Fame quarterback currently serves as the Director of US Scouting with the Bombers, helping them earn their first Grey Cup in 29 years last weekend in Calgary.

The Alouettes cut ties with Kavis Reed earlier in the year, leaving a vacancy atop their football operations. Former Bombers GM Joe Mack had served as the team’s Interim General Manager from Reed’s departure until the remainder of the season.
McManus was first hired by the Bombers in December of 2013 to seek talent south of the border.
