Step into the GM’s shoes with the new CFL Fantasy

TORONTO — As the clock winds down to the 2023 CFL season, the league has unveiled the all-new CFL Fantasy game.

Now powered by LiveStats, the fan favourite game has been rebuilt and redesigned by Genius Sports – the league’s Official Data and Technology Partner that powers the ecosystem connecting sports, betting and media.

Fans will be able to take the reins of their very own CFL team with a roster of their favourite players. The stakes have never been higher: over $25,000 in total prizes, including a trip to the 110th Grey Cup in Hamilton, as well as bragging rights as CFL Fantasy GM of the Year.

Beginning Week 1, fans will be able to set a weekly roster consisting of one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, one flex position and one team defence, while remaining under the $70,000 salary cap. New this season, fans will be able to designate a team captain who will earn double their fantasy points for the week. Player values will change weekly depending on their most recent performance.

All fans who sign up and set a roster for Week 1 will be eligible to win a $2,500 cash prize, regardless of their team’s performance. The top performers from Weeks 1, 7 and 14 will also take home $2,500 for selecting the week’s best roster.

The best cumulative score across the entire 21-week regular season will lay claim to a round-trip for two to the 110th Grey Cup in Hamilton, hotel accommodations and $5,000, in addition to the title of CFL Fantasy GM of the Year.

The biggest addition in 2023 will be a mini tournament: Champions League – an opportunity for the season’s weekly top performers to strut their stuff down the stretch. From Weeks 1 to 17, the Top-30 scorers and ties from each week will earn entry into the bonus competition.

Across Weeks 18-21, each Champion’s weekly scores will be tallied cumulatively. Following play each week, players will face a cutline to determine if they advance to the following week. By Week 21, 50 players will remain. The Champion’s cumulative score across the season’s final four weeks will be crowned the Champion of Champions, earning a $5,000 payday.

CFL Fantasy GM of the Year and the Champion of Champions will also be special once-a-year badges to be unlocked in CFL Game Zone. Additional badges will reward participation and reaching specific in-game milestones.

Opening June 5, CFL Blitz Picks also returns for its second season. The popular game allows fans to predict various outcomes related to the coming week’s action, including individual players’ and teams’ performances and league-wide statistics. The platform includes weekly, monthly and season-long leaderboards for prizes, as well as mini-leagues for competitions between friends. Each completely correct slate earns fans an entry for that week’s $200 prize, and a shot at the $5,000 grand prize at season’s end.

The all-new CFL Fantasy and CFL Blitz Picks join the league’s stable of games and interactive experiences, including CFL Preseason Futures, Team Picker and CFL Pick’ Em presented by Old Dutch. To learn more and play, visit CFL Game Zone.
