POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to Manager, Content & Social Media, the incumbent is responsible for creation of unique, stylized social specific content for use across all Canadian Football League social channels. Working within the Digital & Marketing teams this candidate will help enhance the CFL’s presence across social media with the goal of creating specialized content to grow fan engagement, football participation, ticket sales and follower base.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conceptualize and create original, made-for-social content using graphic design, motion animation, and illustration
  • Work with Digital, Content & Design departments to ensure consistent look and feel across content while continuing to push the boundaries on creativity and originality
  • Collaborate with member clubs and host broadcaster to help create content, assist in content sharing and cross-promotion
  • Work directly with Manager, Content & Social Media on social content calendar and daily publishing
  • Create content independently that “breaks through” online and positions CFL social media as a leader in the field
  • Work closely with content team to help with ideation and to react swiftly to breaking news
  • Report on the statistical metrics of social media content and help guide marketing and/or partnership campaigns

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE)

  • Expertise with graphic design and motion graphics (ex. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
  • Video editing skills a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat
  • Ability to execute swiftly and with precision in response to breaking news
  • Passion and knowledge for the sport of football
  • Sound judgement and professionalism
  • Ability to work outside of the 9-5 time frame and meet deadlines

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary education in design, animation or equivalent
  • Diploma or certification in design also a plus

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • May be required to travel for most of the month of November
  • May be required to travel during the season to select CFL cities for playoff and/or Grey Cup preparation
