MONTREAL – According to reports, there will be a new man under centre when the Montreal Alouettes next take the field.

Rakeem Cato will replace Kevin Glenn at quarterback when the Als face the BC Lions next week, says Didier Orméjuste of RDS.

Glenn has started all but one game for Montreal this season, his second with the club after being acquired near the trade deadline last year. The 13-year veteran has thrown for 2,547 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this campaign.

Cato started at quarterback for the Als in their Week 4 loss after Glenn was unable to play, throwing for 203 yards on 18-of-25 passing. He burst onto the scene with the Larks in his rookie season last year, quickly claiming the starting job early before going down with injury. Through 10 games this season, the 24-year-old sophomore out of Marshall University has thrown a touchdown pass on 24-of-31 passing.

Montreal has allowed the most sacks (32) and sit seventh in total points.

The Als sit last in the East with a 3-7 record and have lost their last two games.
