WINNIPEG    The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced Monday that the club has re-signed receiver Darvin Adams. A pending free agent, the agreement means Adams will remain in Winnipeg through the 2019 season.

“Darvin has continued to develop over the past two seasons, and in our view, is now one of the league’s top-end targets,” Blue Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters said in a statement. “He was having a great season last year before unfortunately suffering a tough injury, but we look forward to watching him build off of his season in 2017 and beyond.”

Adams has spent the past two seasons with Winnipeg after signing as a free agent. Adams was on pace for a career-year in 2016 before suffering an injury in week 6 at Edmonton. He finished the year with 51 receptions for 690 yards and six touchdowns in just eight games. In four of his eight games played, Adams recorded over 100 yards receiving.

“This was something I wanted to get completed, and not head into free agency,” said Adams. “This is such a great organization, and for them to want me back, with the direction the team is going, that means a lot to me. I couldn’t be happier to be remain a Bomber.”

Adams recorded 61 receptions for 839 yards and a team-high six touchdowns grabs in 2015, his first season with Winnipeg. In four CFL seasons, his first two with Toronto, Adams has 133 receptions for 1,790 yards and 14 touchdowns in 35 career games.
