Status Report: Manny a go for Lions in Western Final

TORONTO — Who hits the injured list? What final adjustments are being made before the biggest game of the season? CFL.ca delivers all the last-minute roster moves ahead of Sunday’s Division Finals.

The most notable change is out west where the Lions await the status of receiver Manny Arceneaux while their opponent, the Calgary Stampeders, looks as though they will have starting defensive halfback Jamar Wall healthy for Sunday’s Western Final.

WESTERN SEMI-FINAL: BC at Calgary

CGY00

  • Defensive back Jamar Wall only practiced once this week and was limited in doing so.  However, he is on the 46-man roster and listed as the starting defensive halfback.  Wall has been trying to work back from an ankle injury suffered in the Stamps’ season finale in Montreal.  In the event that he cannot go and is a scratch, expect Sacramento State rookie DB Osagie Odiase to potentially fill in.
  • On the other side of the ball, Calgary was spending the week trying to fine-tune its final list of receivers.  They have activated both Kemar Jordan and Bakari Grant – who is returning from injury – with Grant listed as the backup.  Uncertain if he will make the gameday roster or be a scratch.
  • Defensive lineman Junior Turner is back on the roster after spending the majority of the year on the six-game injured list
  • National receiver Simon Charbonneau was placed on the one-game injured list and will be unavailable to the Stamps.
  • Inactives: DL Derek Wiggan, DB Matt Bucknor

EASTERN SEMI-FINAL: Edmonton at Hamilton

Esks

  • Barring anyting unforseen, quarterback Mike Reilly, who has taken the majority of first team reps with the Eskimos offence this week,  will start under centre despite suffering an injury to his left wrist/arm in last week’s Eastern Semi-Final in Hamilton.
  • Fullback Calvin McCarty practised again this week and will be on the roster for the first time since being placed on the six-game injured last back in early September.  His activation takes Aaron Milton off the roster.
  • The Eskimos will dress two international backs in Shakir Bell and John White for the second straight week, while return man Troy Stoudermire remains off the roster.
  • Bell is expected to handle kickoffs while Brandon Zylstra resumes taking punt return duties.
  • Inactives: T. Thornton, D. Beard

  • Travon Van has made the REDBLACKS’ roster but could be one of two game day scratches as he’s listed third on the depth chart behind Kienan LaFrance and starter Mossis Madu.
  • Tristan Jackson is listed as Ottawa’s kick returner and punt returner, also putting Jamill Smith‘s role in doubt on Sunday.
  • Although Nick Taylor has taken some reps in his place, Abdul Kanneh is expected to be a full-go for the REDBLACKS.
  • Inactives: T. Van, J. Smith
