Week 13 brought out the best the Canadian Football League has to offer: Rivalry matchups in Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto brought out six sets of fans in droves, while entertaining football made for great television and social viewing.
The BC Lions earned a confident 26-14 win over the Ottawa REDBLACKS on Friday night, and the team dedicated its post-game tradition of ‘game balls’ to fullback Rolly Lumbala, whose father passed away prior to Friday’s game.

It was a special dedication in the den for a member of the #BCLions family.

Then, in the opening game of Saturday’s tripleheader, the Ticats beat the Argos thoroughly on Toronto’s own turf. Naturally, chatty Hamilton linebacker Simoni Lawrence was vocal following the win.

The Banjo Bowl served as Saturday’s main course, with a boatload of huge plays, in-game quarterback changes for both teams and another Saskatchewan W.
Riders kicker Brett Lauther had a big day, and celebrated with a nod to the afternoon’s banjo theme.
I love this shot. @brettlauther ‘pickin & kickin’ a perfect 6-for-6 in the #BanjoBowl. 👌 @sskroughriders with 4 wins in a row! 🍉🏈#CFL #TSN #Riders #Bombers pic.twitter.com/F9xHavuLE1

Then, the classic ‘change a team’s Wikipedia page after a loss’ move which has become popular in recent years hit the prairie rivalry.

Also: This is just awesome from a member of the CFL podcast community.
So the @CFL sent me a #DiversityInStrength shirt but it was never gonna fit.
Today I gave it to my brother-in-law, Jose. Originally from El Salvador, he went to his first #GreyCup in 2013. Of course, marrying @Travis_Currah‘s sister meant he had to cheer for the #Riders! 🤣 #CFL pic.twitter.com/HGVR5ZoxVm

Saturday’s late game featured a rematch in the Battle of Alberta, and the game did not disappoint: Mike Reilly and the Eskimos outlasted a late-game Calgary comeback attempt to earn a see-saw 48-42 victory.
Reilly was winning off the field too, as he handed a touchdown ball to Esks fan Chantelle Miller, who lost her father earlier in the week.

Lastly, this weekend was about the people who make this league what it is: The fans.
Check out these Calgary and Edmonton fans mingling at a pre-game tailgate. Smiles all around.
It is truly incredible to me how many people come together as friends before a big game like this! Thank you to all of you that came by. THIS is what @CFL is all about. pic.twitter.com/7UrV7bqGz8

That’s what it’s all about.
