OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS will be without running back John Crockett when they take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday afternoon.
Crockett had taken over the starting role in Week 6, rushing for 70 or more yards in each of his four starts. The 27-year-old, who’s currently in his first CFL season, has averaged 5.6 yards per carry this season.
Veteran tailback Mossis Madu will take Crockett’s start in the Ottawa backfield.

Ottawa’s offence will have a different look in Week 10, with Julian Feoli-Gudino released this week and receivers DeVonte Dedmon and Rafael Araujo-Lopes sidelined due to injury. However, Caleb Holley and R.J. Harris both return to the lineup, while off-season signing and former first round CFL Draft pick Nate Behar will get the start at field wideout.
Recently-signed veteran Stef Logan will fill in for Dedmon as the team’s primary returner.
After a 2-0 start, the REDBLACKS have since fallen into a 1-5 slump. Saturday offers an opportunity to get things back on track and also close the gap on the East Division-leading Tiger-Cats as the division foes clash for the first time this season.
