MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes have signed quarterback Matthew Shiltz to a contract extension that runs until the end of the 2020 campaign, the team announced on Monday.

The 26-year-old was initially invited to the Als’ minicamp and signed with the team in April 2017.

Shiltz spent his entire four-year college career with Butler University, throwing for 4,042 yards and 29 touchdowns through the air while adding 862 yards and another 13 yards rushing scores in 29 games.

During his three seasons in the CFL, Shiltz has completed 60 percent of his passes for 686 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

In two games this year, he’s gone 11 of 16 for 107 yards with 21 yards on five carries.

The Alouettes are on a bye for Mark’s Labour Day Weekend. They’ll be back in action on Sept. 6, when they host the BC Lions.
