CFL STATS EVOLUTION

A major cornerstone of the league’s digital transformation includes the development of an entirely new statistics ecosystem. CFL LiveStats represents a dramatic upgrade to the league’s previous statistics infrastructure and is a new cutting-edge data collection software co-developed by the CFL and industry leader, Genius Sports.

This is a custom built Canadianized version of the same product used by leading sports leagues around the world. The league and Genius have been working together for over a year, scoping and developing this software and the fan and media products it will power to enhance the way new and existing fans engage with Canadian football. Amongst several behind-the-scenes improvements, fans will be able to benefit from augmented versions of our CFL Gametracker and CFL.ca scoreboard, so they can keep track of scores and stats wherever they are, and the media will be provided more powerful tools to enhance their access to real-time, fast-as-possible game and player data.

Although, most of the new ecosystem will be operational from the start of the season, there will continue to be some short-term limitations and delays in delivering the full CFL LiveStats insights and products. In the interim, the CFL has developed modified solutions to ensure that stats not yet accessible through the new system will still be available to fans through CFL.ca until their upgraded new formats are completed.

We appreciate your patience and are confident that the final product that our team is developing will be worth the wait!
