EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have signed 2017 CFL Draft pick Nate Behar, the team announced Wednesday.

Behar was selected fifth overall by the Eskimos back in May.

The Carleton Ravens product played in eight games this past season and recorded 48 receptions for 788 yards and nine touchdowns. Over his four-year collegiate career, Behar caught 178 passes for 2,577 yards and 21 touchdowns in 30 games.

Behar was the second receiver off the board, behind only McMaster’s Danny Vandervoort (3rd overall, BC). At the CFL Combine in March, Behar ran a 4.61 in the 40 to go with 22 reps on the bench press.

The Eskimos open their season on Saturday in Vancouver against the BC Lions.
