Week 14’s three-game slate does not feature the firepower of the Eskimos, nor will Bombers running back Andrew Harris and Argos running back James Wilder Jr. be available for TSN CFL Fantasy football users. What Week 14 does present, however, is the burning question of whether investing heavily in Tiger-Cats will pay off against a Stampeders team that has lost two in a row and comes off what their worst defensive effort of the season was easily.
Hamilton pivot Jeremiah Masoli ($11,659) easily sits atop the position after a three-game binge that has seen him pass for 1,111 yards and eight majors. Whether he can continue to pay off when the Stamps come to town on Saturday will leave many a Fantasy user torn on where to go at the position. Masoli did throw for 342 yards against Calgary in the regular season opener but did not throw a touchdown and was intercepted once.
On the same note, Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell ($9,919) has set career-bests in passing yards in two of his last three games, with Saturday’s 491-yard outing in a loss at the Eskimos establishing his new bar. Mitchell did throw four touchdowns last Saturday but was also intercepted three times must contend with a defence that allows the fewest plays from scrimmage in the league.

Beyond Masoli and Mitchell, pivot leaves plenty of questions left to be answered. Can Ottawa’s Trevor Harris ($8,161) regain his 2017 form against a solid Saskatchewan defence? Will BC’s Travis Lulay ($6,646) and Saskatchewan’s Zach Collaros ($5,097) come off concussion protocol? Is Antonio Pipkin ($6,721) a sleeper choice ready to put together a more complete game?
Depth at running back will be a challenge, with Hamilton’s Alex Green ($9,336) and Ottawa’s William Powell ($8,204) both facing the league’s top two run defences in Calgary and Saskatchewan, respectively. Green has scored eight touchdowns in five games and showed his potential as a receiver out of the backfield in back-to-back wins over the Argonauts. Powell has been solid for most of the season and did have success in his first meeting against the Roughriders, rushing for 94 yards and a major on 17 carries in Week 2.
Saskatchewan’s Tre Mason ($4,186) comes off his first 100-yard game and presents as a value pick, while Romar Morris ($4,615) will have value after he scored four touchdowns in Calgary’s loss to Edmonton. The status of Stampeders back Don Jackson ($6,517) and Montreal’s William Stanback ($4,000) could alter the decisions of many Fantasy users if both return to their respective lineups.
There is little question about where Tiger-Cats receiver Brandon Banks ($10,516) stands in the rankings. Banks has eight 100-yard games this season and four in his last five. His salary could cause discomfort for some, but with the way Banks has been going over the past month, there will be more than enough users willing to take the challenge against Calgary’s secondary. Teammate Luke Tasker ($7,661) is third in the rankings, right behind Stampeders wideout DaVaris Daniels ($7,489), who has taken the reigns as the Stamps’ top pass catcher.
Ottawa’s trio of Diontae Spencer ($7,897), Greg Ellingson ($6,415) and Brad Sinopoli ($6,686) are among the top seven receivers this week, but the issues of Harris makes each a risk investment despite the potential upside awaiting them.
The week will have its share of sleepers at receiver, with Ottawa’s R.J. Harris ($2,984), Calgary’s Juwan Brescacin ($2,500) and Lemar Durant ($3,041) and BC’s Shaquille Johnson ($2,728) among them.
Defensively, Saskatchewan continues to be worth the steep price of this week’s $6,054 salary going into Saturday’s game against Ottawa. The Stampeders have seen their price drop to $,629 in a week that will see Montreal’s defence ($3,200not ranked at the bottom.
