Updated Playoff Scenarios: Stamps have division in their sights

TORONTO — The Lions confirmed their spot in the playoffs with a win over Edmonton and while we need to wait before we know what scenarios face them, Winnipeg and Saskatchewan, the focus turns to Calgary.

After a rare loss at home last week, the situation is simple for the Stampeders — a Calgary win and they clinch the West Division.  Doing so by beating Saskatchewan allows the Stamps to sit back and watch the remaining four Western teams duke it out for playoff positioning.

In the East, it is a two-horse race to see who will finish first.  Ottawa pressed the issue with a huge win over Hamilton Friday night and essentially need to win one of their remaining two games to clinch the division.  Hamilton meanwhile, no longer controls their own destiny.  They ahve surrendered the season series to Ottawa and need to win their final two — including next week against the REDBLACKS –and not only win their final contest but hope for an Ottawa loss to Toronto.
