Esks release Rector and Birdine

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have released wide receiver Jamaica Rector and defensive lineman Larry Birdine, the club announced today.

Rector appeared in 24 games over two seasons (2009-2010), registering 66 receptions for 736 yards and one touchdown. He also saw limited action as a punt and kick returner.

Birdine played in 12 games (one start) last season for the Esks, posting seven defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles and one fumble recovery.    

The Eskimos open their 2011 training camp Sunday, June 5th at Clarke Stadium in Edmonton.
