EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos completed a deal Wednesday that sends import wide receiver Greg Carr to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in exchange for the rights to non-import offensive linemen Matt O’Donnell.  The clubs also swapped draft picks with the Riders acquiring Edmonton’s 5th round pick in the 2013 CFL Canadian Draft in exchange for Saskatchewan’s 4th round pick in the same draft.

Trade Details:
To Saskatchewan: WR Greg Carr, 5th round draft pick (2013)
To Edmonton: OL Matt O’Donnell (playing rights), 4th round draft pick (2013)

Carr joined the Eskimos in the off-season as a part of a busy off-season for Edmonton in the free agent market.  The towering wideout came off a career year, recording 46 receptions for 648 yards and 4 touchdowns with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2011.

This season, Carr has been used sparingly in the Edmonton offence, making 19 receptions for 214 yards and 1 major.

O’Donnell was drafted in the second round (15th overall) of the 2011 CFL Canadian Draft by the Riders.  The Queen’s University grad is currently on the roster of the Cincinnati Bengals (NFL) after joining their practice squad last season.
