VANCOUVER — The BC Lions announced today that Jason Arakgi, J.R. LaRose and Joash Gesse have re-signed with the team.

Arakgi comes off his fifth pro campaign since being drafted by the Lions in 2008. This past season, the reserve linebacker notched six defensive tackles and 16 stops on special teams, second only to teammate Lin-J Shell.  Over five seasons, Arakgi has amassed a CFL-high 118 special teams tackles.

LaRose returns for his fourth season with the Lions in 2013 after originally signing as a free agent in 2010. The reserve safety recorded nine special teams tackles this past season as well as six on defense. Bouncing back in 2011 from a season-ending injury the year prior, the resilient LaRose appeared in all 18 games for the first time since 2007.

Gesse is also set to enter his fourth year with the Leos in 2013 and enjoyed a terrific comeback campaign in 2012 after suffering a season-ending knee injury in 2011.

The Lions’ third-round selection in the 2010 CFL Draft was fourth in special teams tackles this past year with 15 and appeared in all 18 regular season games for the first time in his career.
