WINNIPEG –The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be without receiver Cory Watson for a little while.

Bombers head coach Tim Burke said Thursday that Watson could be sidelined as long as a month with a hamstring injury sustained Wednesday in practice.

With Watson ailing, the Bombers signed rookie receiver Brett Carter from the practice roster and he’ll dress for Friday night’s home game against the Toronto Argonauts.

Receiver Chris Matthews, the CFL’s top rookie last season, is doubtful for Friday night’s game, as is veteran Terrence Edwards with a shoulder injury.
