On behalf of our Board of Governors, and the entire CFL, I want to wish you the happiest of Thanksgivings.
What we are most thankful for is your passion for our game, and your support for our teams and our league. You make everything our players and organizations do, on the field and in the community, possible. Thank you.
And this year, we can all be thankful for what is shaping up as one of the tightest and most exciting playoff races in CFL history.
Going into this weekend, all nine CFL clubs retain a chance to play in the post-season, with just five weeks left in the regular season. At this point last year, all six playoff positions had been settled.
There is also a strong possibility of a three-way tie for first place in the East Division. In 107 years of Canadian football history, this has only ever happened once before: Ottawa, Hamilton and Toronto all finished at 7-5 in 1951. In fact, 63 years ago both the East and West finished in a three-way tie. This year, our league is so highly competitive, that too was a mathematical possibility, going into this weekend.
In fact, in the West, even a massive, four team tie at 10-8 is possible. A four-way has never happened before in our league.
So enjoy this weekend of exciting, and meaningful, CFL games, as well as cherished time with friends and loved ones. From the CFL family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving.
