EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have dipped into the free agent market, announcing on Monday they’ve signed free agent defensive tackle Euclid Cummings.

Cummings, 25, adds size and muscle to the Eskimos’ defensive front, his 6-foot-3, 298-pound frame joining the likes of Marcus Howard and Odell Willis in green and gold.

The Esks also announced Monday that they have released national defensive tackle Eddie Steele.

The Atlanta native entered the league in 2014 with the Toronto Argonauts, playing one game his rookie season. The following year he recorded 24 defensive tackles and eight quarterback sacks in 18 games as a member of one of the league’s top interior duos.

Cummings spent last season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, recording 16 defensive tackles and three quarterback sacks in 18 games after signing in February as a marquee free agent.
