Bombers ink two from 2017 Draft class; name Bourgoin RB coach

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced Monday that the club signed National receiver Tylor Henry and National defensive lineman Ian Marouf to deals.

Both were selected by the Bombers in last week’s Draft.

Henry was selected in the eighth round, 68th overall. He led Alberta in receiving in 2016 with 43 receptions for 611 yards. He set a Canada West record with 19 receptions in week 7 against Manitoba.

Marouf was selected in the sixth round, 50th overall. He played at Guelph before moving to the Hamilton Hurricanes. In 2015, Marouf recorded 25 tackles, three sacks, and one fumble recovery.

Bourgoin to take over coaching running backs

Head Coach Mike O’Shea today announces he has named Kevin Bourgoin the club’s Running Backs Coach.

Bourgoin spent last season with Colby College as their as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach.

Prior to that, he was the associate head coach for the University of Maine from March 2007 to January 2016. In that span, he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He also spent time coaching wide receivers, tight ends, and fullbacks at Maine from 2005-2006. In total, Bourgoin spent 15 seasons at the University of Maine, coaching a variety of offensive positions.

He has also held the position of receivers coach at Brown University for five seasons. Bourgoin started his coaching career at Colby in 1997, coaching receivers and tight ends.
