MONTREAL — Starting cornerback in the CFL and NFL, three-time Grey Cup champion, three-time all-star and now you can add budding broadcaster to the resume of Davis Sanchez.
Sanchez, who spent the majority of his career with the Alouettes, Lions and San Diego Chargers (NFL) was added to the Montreal Alouettes official radio broadcast Tuesday, alongside Rick Moffatt.
After dabbling with on-camera work with Sportsnet a few years ago, Sanchez joined CFL.ca as an analyst and co-host of The Waggle, the official League podcast, in 2016 and has since been a central contributor in some of CFL.ca’s coverage of pillar events. In February, the Delta, BC native co-hosted alongside Brodie Lawson on CFL.ca’s two-day Free Agency live show and a month later added ‘sideline analyst’ to his repertoire as he took party in CFL.ca’s live broadcast of the Combine.

“We’re delighted to welcome a GREY CUP winner in Davis Sanchez to the broadcast booth, who will draw on experiences from his long CFL career to provide in-depth analysis,” said TSN690 Program Director Chris Bury in a statement.
With an entire year of covering the game for ‘The Waggle’ and CFL.ca, Davis Sanchez told the Montreal Gazette he is looking forward to adding to his skillet. “I’m excited and stoked,” Sanchez told the Gazette’s Herb Zurkowsky. “I’ve had more fun in the last year and enjoyed life the most since I retired from football. It has been my most enjoyable year by a long shot. I do something that I’m passionate about. And I like the league.
“Davis has done an incredible job of channeling his lunch bucket work ethic and fun personality from his playing days into the media world,” Sanchez’ co-host James Cybulski told CFL.ca. “It’s why I wanted to work with him (on The Waggle) and football fans have benefited from that seamless transition.”
