EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have added a key piece to their secondary, announcing on Friday the addition of international defensive back Forrest Hightower.
The 5-foot-10, 186-pound native of Oakland, Calif. spent the last two seasons with the Ottawa REDBLACKS, recording 63 defensive tackles, one quarterback sack and two interceptions in 23 career games.
He made back-to-back Grey Cup appearances with Ottawa. During the 104th Grey Cup Championship, he recorded one defensive tackle and two interceptions to help the REDBLACKS secure their first Grey Cup.
Hightower started all 14 games he played in last season, helping Ottawa’s defence rank fourth in the league on the way to an East Division title.
