Eskimos ink former 2nd round pick Colquhoun

Michigan State Spartans

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have signed national defensive back and former second round pick Arjen Colquhoun, the team announced Sunday.

Colquhoun was a highly-touted prospect going into the 2016 CFL Draft before being picked 17th overall by the Eskimos. He spent his first professional season as a member of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

The 24-year-old adds to a growing stable of national defensive backs in the Esks’ secondary, which also includes Andrew Lue (free agency) and Jordan Hoover (draft), both of whom were added this off-season.

The Eskimos also added international halfback Forrest Hightower to their roster this week.

Training camp officially opens for the Eskimos along with nine other teams on Sunday.
