MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes have cut ties with a former first round pick, announcing Wednesday they have released offensive lineman Jacob Ruby.
Ruby was drafted eighth overall by the Als in 2015 and started all 18 games for the team at tackle in 2016. This season, however, the Alouettes have leaned on two American starting tackles after acquiring Brian Simmons and Jovan Olafioye.
The team also announced several additional roster moves on Wednesday morning:
