REDBLACKS release DB AJ Jefferson

OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS have released international defensive back A.J. Jefferson, the team announced Tuesday.

Jefferson spent his first two seasons with the Toronto Argonauts before becoming a free agent and signing with the REDBLACKS back in February.

In 30 games with the Argos, the 29-year-old collected 91 defensive tackles, five special teams tackles, six interceptions and one touchdown.

The Fresno State alumni played in two games with Ottawa this season and collected four defensive tackles.

The REDBLACKS also announced the addition of national receiver Austin Reuland, international receiver R.J. Harris and international defensive lineman Teidrick Smith and the release of national linebacker Kevin Jackson.
