RotoExperts: Week 6 Fantasy Rankings

The Canadian Press

Running back will be a challenging position in Week 6, and it’s not just because the Ottawa duo of William Powell and Mossis Madu are on a bye week. Injuries impact the position, as the status of Montreal’s Tyrell Sutton ($7,030) and Toronto’s Brandon Whitaker ($6,237) remain in doubt.

The position does get a boost now that Calgary’s Jerome Messam ($6,965) emphatically informed opposing defences that his slow start is a thing of the past following his 19.4 Fantasy point outing in a Week 5 win over Saskatchewan. BC’s Jeremiah Johnson ($8,355) is the only back that has hit double-digits in each of the first five weeks of the season and should keep that streak alive against winless Hamilton.

Stamps pivot Bo Levi Mitchell ($11,687) will bounce back from his season-low 253-yard outing in the win over the Roughriders and put up impressive numbers against a Ticats defence ranked last in the league in yards allowed. Travis Lulay ($5,829) should remain a popular option for Fantasy players as it appears he is in line for a second straight start as BC meets Edmonton in a rematch of the Week 1 nailbiter that saw Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly ($13,518) throw for 315 yards and two majors.

The receiver rankings look different as Calgary’s Kamar Jorden ($6,224) tops the list, while Edmonton’s Brandon Zylstra ($5,403), who shined in last week’s comeback win at Hamilton, looks to be Reilly’s go-to as the Eskimos will be without Adarius Bowman (six-game injured reserve) for the immediate future.
BC’s Emmanuel Arceneaux ($7,273) is due for his first 100-yard outing now that he has ended his drought without a major after scoring twice in last week’s win over Winnipeg. Montreal’s Ernest Jackson ($5,449) has put himself back among the top Fantasy receivers after two straight weeks of solid production.
Defensively, Calgary ($5,856) will be a popular choice as they face a Hamilton team that has struggled to score. Winnipeg ($5,573) and Montreal ($4,507) meet in what could be a low-scoring affair, making each unit attractable.
