TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts will be without one of their top defensive players for the next little bit after placing linebacker Marcus Ball on the six-game injured list.

The news was revealed on Friday, when the team released its depth chart for Saturday’s matinee against the Saskatchewan Roughriders at BMO Field. Ball suffered the injury in last week’s 43-35 overtime win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The 30-year-old, who’s back with the Argos after three years in the NFL, is second on the team with 57 tackles. He also has two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery from his WILL linebacker position.

Terrence Plummer will start in his place on Saturday, when the Argos look to strengthen their grip on top spot in the East Division. Toronto leads Ottawa by three points with a game in hand.

The Argos signed veteran linebacker Khalil Bass earlier this week, although Bass will not dress in Week 16.
