Night One: Country Night

Juno award winner for Country Album of the Year and 3x CCMA winner for Best Female Artist, Saskatchewan-born Jess Moskaluke kicks off Night One of the Concert Series.

The self-proclaimed Saskatchewan Roughriders fan made waves in 2014 when her single Cheap Wine and Cigarettes became the first single from a female country artist to reach Platinum status in Canada since Shania Twain…Jess’ childhood idol and this year’s Grey Cup halftime performer!

TSN’s Kate Pettersen caught up with Jess to talk about her banner year, the CFL, and the Grey Cup Festival:

Also performing on Night One is CCMA nominee JJ Shiplett and CCMA winners The Washboard Union!

Trooper has released 10 studio albums and won the 1979 Juno for Group of the Year. Just try to listen to “Raise a Little Hell” and not dance. Can’t be done.

April Wine has released 20 studio albums with 11 Juno nominations, without a win (unbelievable!). Myles Goodwyn was awarded the ECMA lifetime achievement award in 2003 and the band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2010.
