TORONTO — There’s a lot on the line for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and BC Lions in this week’s Marquee Matchup.
A win or a tie for the Blue Bombers and they clinch a playoff berth. The Lions playoff hopes will likely fade away if they don’t come away from Investors Group Field with a win this week. If BC loses and both Saskatchewan and Edmonton win, the Leos will be eliminated from playoff contention.
Talk about high stakes for each side.
The Lions are riding a three-game losing skid and have struggled to put together a complete game over the last few weeks. They’ll need to find consistency and the ability to hold on to a lead if they want to defeat the streaking Blue Bombers squad.
Matt Nichols will be a big factor in this week’s game and whether or not the injured finger on his throwing hand will hurt his performance. That being said, the duo of Andrew Harris and Timothy Flanders will likely be able to carry the load out of the back field instead.
