In its first-year partnered together, both the CFL and NFL were thrilled with the results from the regional tournaments.

“The first year of this important partnership with the National Football League was an overwhelming success,” said Glen Johnson, Senior Vice President, Football. “Seeing more than 500 kids participate in the regional tournaments and the amount of talent across the nation was special to see. It’s important to have kids living a healthy and active lifestyle while still being engaged in team sports like flag football.”

“The tournaments this year, leading up to the Championship in Ottawa, demonstrates the enthusiasm and excitement, young players have for the great game of football across Canada,”, said David Thomson, Managing Director, NFL Canada.  “As stewards of the game, the collaboration between the NFL and CFL, represents a tremendous opportunity to continue to open up the game, to a wider group of young athletes.  We’re excited to have a team from Canada, participate and compete at the NFL Flag Championships during Pro Bowl week.”
