REGINA — In a week that saw Saskatchewan lock up Brandon Bridge and veterans Thaddeus Coleman and Jovon Johnson, the Riders have made yet another transaction, extending international kick returner Christion Jones on Wednesday.

Although not a pending free agent like the others, Jones signed a one-year deal that will keep him in Riderville through 2019.

Jones signed with the Riders in July, 2017 and he played 10 games during his first CFL season. The 25-year-old University of Alabama product had 45 punt returns for 645 yards and two touchdowns while adding 18 kickoff returns for 423 yards. Following the season, he was named the Riders’ Most Outstanding Special-Teams Player.

In the playoffs Jones added 12 punt returns for 223 yards, including a 79-yard touchdown.
