REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released Canadian defensive back Elite Bouka, the team announced Wednesday.

The Calgary Dinos product was picked in the third round (24th overall) by the Riders in 2016, joining the team part way through 2017 after spending a season south of the border.

Bouka, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound Laval, Que. native, played safety and recorded three special teams tackles in four games for the Green and White last season.

The 24-year-old was a high-ranking prospect going into the draft after a polished career at the University of Calgary.
