VERO BEACH, FLA. — The Montreal Alouettes have released four Canadians, the team announced Tuesday, as the team’s mini-camp continues in Vero Beach, Fla.

Running back Dillon Campbell, receiver S.J. Haidara, offensive lineman Matt Vonk and defensive back Mikaël Charland are looking for new teams as the Als cut down their Canadian content.

The team also announced it has added international receiver Alton Howard out of Tennessee.

Charland, a second round pick (16th overall) by the Ottawa REDBLACKS in 2016, is the biggest name on the list considering his draft pedigree. The 26-year-old played in 12 games for the Als last season, recording one special teams tackle.

In his second season in Montreal, Haidara had five catches for 28 yards in 16 games. The sixth-year veteran has also played for BC, Saskatchewan and Winnipeg, totaling 70 games since being picked in the second round of the 2013 CFL Draft.

Wilfrid Laurier running back Campbell was picked in the fifth round by the Argos in 2015, signing with Montreal later that year. He played in one game for the Als in 2017.

Vonk, 27, played nine games with the Als in 2017 after spending his first three CFL seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Alouettes wrap up their annual three-day mini-camp on Wednesday in Florida.
