TMI: Sutton + Logan = best deserted island duo ever?

If Tyrell Sutton was stranded on a deserted island, he’d want Stef Logan to be right there with him.

If Logan doesn’t figure out a way to get off the island – Sutton thinks he would be able to – he’ll at least keep his teammate entertained. And that’s all you could ask for if you were stranded on a deserted island, to be entertained.. right?

Did you know Sutton used to take ballet? He still remembers a couple moves.

He has a pretty eclectic pre-game playlist and his pre-game routine is so ingrained in his mind that he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it.

And in his free time, Sutton likes to sleep. (Same, Tyrell, same.)

Get to know the Montreal Alouettes running back a bit better off the field in this edition of TMI.

Kristina Costabile: What is something that fans might not know about you?

Tyrell Sutton: I took ballet for a year. One summer back in the day when I was 12 or 13 years old. It was to try and get a scholarship and I didn’t get it. It was a pretty good experience. It definitely helped out with sports later on.

KC: Can you still do any of the moves?

TS: I can do a couple. I can do a pirouette. I can still do a plie.

KC: Will that be your touchdown celebration this year?

TS: I’m thinking of doing the Ace Ventura route when he was in the psych ward (laughs). (Editors note: See video https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=gZIuzQcvlTU)

KC: What do you like to do in your free time?

TS: Sleep! Video games. I’m trying to get the travel bug a bit. I went to Europe for the first time this off-season. (I went to) Spain and the Netherlands. It was amazing. I got to see Rinaldo, so that was dope. I’m trying to live life a little bit more.

KC: If you could choose one of your teammates to be stranded on a deserted island with, who would it be and why?

TS: I think (Stef) Logan. He’s funny. He’s going to think of a way to get out of there somehow, some way. But if we don’t get off of it, at least it’s pure entertainment.

KC: On that island, what are three things that you have to have with you?

TS: Some music, water and I want to say a map but I can’t read it! (Laughs) And a blanket.

KC: If you were not a football player, what would you be doing?

TS: I have not the slightest clue. I’ve been doing this for so long that I have no idea what I would be doing.

KC: What’s on your pre-game playlist?

TS: Eminem, Jay-Z, Wiz (Khalifa), John Mayer, T.I. It’s very eclectic. You’ve got to get up just to come down. It’s a little bit of everything.

KC: Do you have any pre-game superstitions or routines that you have to do?

TS: Yeah but I don’t even know that I’m doing them anymore. I used to tape my fingers in high school and college. That used to be my thing. Now recently, since being a professional athlete, I don’t really have too many rituals anymore. Just listening to music and just going in my own zone.

KC: What are you binge watching right now?

TS: I just finished Game of Thrones. It’s a pretty good binge watch. Shameless is always good. I am currently watching The Shy. How to Get Away with Murder. I’m a big Shonda Rhymes fan. I’m watching a little bit of everything.

KC: If you could have any super power, what would it be?

TS: Mind reading. I don’t go too many places that I want to be teleporting, I just want to know what you’re thinking.
