The Toronto Argonauts community team and members of the hit Family Channel show ‘The Next Step’ visited a trio of a summer camps on Tuesday morning to promote the team’s Saturday #FamilyDay game.

Flanking mascot Jason The Argonaut, television stars Alexandra Chaves and Shelby Bain met with campers to sign autographs, chat and throw a Family Day-themed Argonauts football around.

The tour began at 9:30 a.m. with a visit to Crestwood Valley Camp, where the CFL’s contingent shared the stage with reptiles and the Grey Cup was unveiled to ooh’s and ahh’s.

Continuing on, the group went to True North Sports Camp; campers took photos with Jason the mascot and chatted with the stars from The Next Step, before their counsellors got in on the selfie action.

The morning’s final stop was De La Salle Day Camp, where Jason The Argonaut tossed the pigskin with campers and an excited group of girls surrounded Alexandra and Shelby from The Next Step.

Tom, the Grey Cup’s handler, entertained campers with trivia questions about the teams and names engraved on the trophy.

Autographs were signed, smiles were exchanged and a football was thrown.

Tickets for Saturday’s Argonauts #FamilyDay game are available here; kickoff is slated for 4 p.m., with members of The Next Step cast set to appear at the Shipyard at 1 p.m. — the cast will also be performing at halftime.
