Players, coaches and fans from around the league weighed in on Twitter this morning following Andy Fantuz’s retirement announcement.
Fantuz’s numbers speak for themselves — 4th all-time in receptions and 9th all-time in receiving yards amongst nationals — and it was clear that he was a player who garnered a ton of respect throughout 12 seasons in the CFL.

Ticats alumnus Mike Morreale officially welcomed Fantuz to the football retirement club.
It was a pleasure watching this guy play! Great player, teammate, ambassador, and a proud Canadian. Happy to have watched you first hand continue the tradition of those that have come before you and welcome to the Ticat Alumni. Less work more beers, same jersey! 😆

Fantuz finished his career with 8,363 receiving yards and 45 touchdowns, and split his career between Saskatchewan (2006-11) and Hamilton (2012-17).
The Western product was named the league’s Most Outstanding Canadian in 2010, and won a Grey Cup with the Roughriders in 2007.
