Which touchdown celebration was the best through Week 12

Adam Gagnon/CFL.ca

Another week, another Blue Bombers touchdown celebration victory.

The Hippo, once again, reigns supreme. 78 per cent of you liked Harris and the Bombers’ Hippo better than Duke Williams and the Esks game of hot potato.

This week, it’s the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and their ode to The Replacements as the Hippo’s challenger.

Before we get to the Tabbies celly, let’s first get a reminder of The Hippo (although at this point, I’m sure you all remember).

At the start of the second quarter against the BC Lions, the Bombers were on the BC four yard line. Andrew Harris took the direct snap on first down and rumbled into the end zone where he began the celebration and his teammates joined in. And so, The Hippo was born.

Now onto the Ticats.

With 17 seconds left in the second quarter, Jeremiah Masoli tossed a bomb to Brandon Banks – their second try at this play, the first bonked off of the upright – who caught the 19-yard score in the end zone.

Then, the magic happened.

Banks, joined by almost all of the rest of the Ticats offence, gave a nod to one of the best football movies ever, The Replacements. Here’s the clip from the movie if you’re unfamiliar.

So. Good.
