  • EDMONTON – The Edmonton Eskimos have acquired international running back Martese Jackson and a conditional sixth-round draft pick in the 2020 CFL Draft from the Toronto Argonauts in exchange for the Eskimos third-round draft pick in the 2019 CFL Draft.
In 11 games with the Argonauts this season, Jackson has recorded 14 carries for 63 yards and five receptions for 29 yards. He also has 464 return yards on 38 punts and 1,211 return yards on 75 kickoffs.
“Martese is one of the most electrifying players in the CFL and has been especially dangerous as a return man from day one. He’s a threat to score every time he touches the ball and has proven to routinely flip the field for great field position even when he doesn’t score,” said Edmonton Eskimos Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Brock Sunderland. “On offence, he brings the same big play capabilities and is one touch from changing the game.”
In 2017, Jackson’s first in the CFL, he appeared in 15 games where he finished with 2,214 kick return yards (1,133 yards on 52 kickoff returns, 824 yards and two touchdowns on 70 punt returns and 256 yards and one touchdown on four missed field goals). He also recorded 18 receptions for 145 yards and one touchdown as well as nine carries for 40 yards.
