Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup: REDBLACKS, Esks battle in Ottawa

OTTAWA — This week’s Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup feature the Edmonton Eskimos and Ottawa REDBLACKS.

Edmonton returns from their Week 14 bye, refreshed and ready to head to the nation’s capital while Ottawa is coming off a big win in Saskatchewan as they took down the Riders last week.

The Eskimos offence has been consistent this season with Mike Reilly at the helm leading the charge. Duke Williams still sits atop the league in receiving yards (1,235) and the team will welcome back running back C.J. Gable, who missed Week 13’s contest against the Stampeders. Gable sits third in rushing yards (681) behind Ottawa’s William Powell (994) and Winnipeg’s Andrew Harris (984).

On the other side of things, Ottawa has been up and down this season. They have the pieces on both offence and defence – Brad Sinopoli and Powell are both closing in on 1,000-yard seasons and their defence held the Riders to just 12 points in Week 14 – but can they start stringing wins together?

With the Tiger-Cats hot on their heels in the East Division, Ottawa will be looking for a win to keep their hold on the top spot. The Eskimos, on the other hand, are tied in points with the Riders and will be eyeing staying in second in the West.

Don’t count out the home team, though, as Ottawa is riding with the momentum of a big win against the Riders last week.
