Alessia Cara to perform Freedom Mobile Grey Cup Halftime Show
TORONTO – With only 57 days until the 106th Grey Cup presented by Shaw kicks off in Edmonton, the Canadian Football League (CFL) announced that Canadian singer and songwriter Alessia Cara will perform during the Freedom Mobile Grey Cup Halftime Show at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium on November 25th. Canada’s largest annual sporting event will be broadcast LIVE on TSN, RDS, ESPN2, BT Sport and on TSN Radio and Sirius XM radio beginning at 6 p.m. ET.
“Performing at the Grey Cup as a Canadian is such an honour,” said Alessia Cara. “Excited to be part of the half time show and freeze all my fingertips off with you guys.”
Coming off her Grammy Award win in January, Alessia followed up her ground-breaking run of six multi-platinum hits with the release of ‘Growing Pains,” the first single from her forthcoming sophomore album The Pains Of Growing .
“We are so proud to have one of Canada’s most promising stars perform at our pinnacle event, the 106th Grey Cup in Edmonton,” said CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie. “With Alessia Cara headlining the Freedom Mobile Halftime Show and the action-packed Grey Cup Festival, everything points to another special Grey Cup week and game come November.”
Alessia, a native of Brampton, Ontario, was the 2016 recipient of the JUNO’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Her inaugural album, KNOW-IT-ALL skyrocketed the charts, with six songs becoming global platinum hits: ‘Here’, ‘Wild Things’, ‘Scars To Your Beautiful’, ‘How Far I’ll Go (Disney’s Moana)’, ‘Stay’ (with Zedd) and ‘1-800-273-8255’ (with Logic).
In 2017, Alessia was the most-streamed new female artist.

The 106th Grey Cup presented by Shaw will be played Sunday, November 25, 2018 in Edmonton at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium. This year’s championship will be the fifth time Edmonton has hosted the game and the first since 2010 (98th Grey Cup). A limited amount of Grey Cup tickets are available.
