TORONTO — Fantasy users can’t wait to jump on Friday night’s matchup between the Argos and Ticats.
The Week 18 opener pits the league’s most explosive and productive offence against the worst-ranked defence, making players like quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, running back John White and receivers Luke Tasker and Brandon Banks popular picks.

For Pat Steinberg, Jeff Krever and Hannah Nordman, there’s no shying away from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats — even if their track record has led to some pricey salaries.
“I’m going with the quarterback,” said Steinberg. “Jeremiah Masoli is going to have a huge week against the Argos. He’s allowed to throw the ball 30 plus times per game. They have opened up the playbook completely. He is one of the most attractive players in Fantasy football.”

Taking the Ticats’ quarterback against a struggling defence is a sound argument. Two of Masoli’s three best games this season have come against Boatmen, averaging 31 points in two contests.
Krever and Nordman, however, are looking in a different direction, with Nordman seeking value at the running back position and Krever looking to take advantage of low ownership rates based on Banks’ high salary of nearly $12,000.
“I know he’s expensive, but I think that’s an advantage because when you have the best receiver in the league as far as recent production, and he’s not in a lot of people’s lineups, you’re getting a competitive advantage,” said Krever. “I love what Banks can do and I’m happy to know I’m one of the few that’s going to have him in the lineup.
“Banks is going off this week. Don’t be cheap, get him in the lineup.”
White, meanwhile, took over the Ticats’ starting running back role following an injury to Alex Green. He’s gotten heavy usage throughout his first two games, and could see a favourable game script if the Ticats can jump out to a big lead against their hated rivals.
“My lock of the week is going to be John White,” said Nordman. “He had over 100 yards rushing, he’s only $4,100. He’s in my lineup, he should be in yours.”
