HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Thursday that defensive end Jamaal Westerman will miss the remainder of the 2019 season with a torn triceps tendon in his right arm.

Westerman, 34, hadn’t played a game yet this season. He was acquired in 2018 from the Montreal Alouettes and suited up in eight games for the Tabbies, totalling 10 tackles.

He was recovering from an Achilles tendon rupture that he suffered on September 22, 2018, and was on schedule to return to the Tiger-Cats’ active roster in Week 11.

In 60 career CFL games with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Alouettes, and Tiger-Cats, Westerman has registered 147 tackles, 35 sacks, and four forced fumbles.
