#TotalPickEm Recap: Week 14

Whereas #TotalPickEm went .500 during Week 13 of CFL action, Week 14 was spotless.

With just a three-game slate over the weekend, all three teams that were selected to win came out of their respective matchups with victories, leaving the record for the season at 41-12.

Ottawa 5, BC 29

Ottawa wasn’t picked to win their matchup against the Toronto Argonauts in Week 13 and, once again, they weren’t favoured against the Lions (1-10).

The REDBLACKS (3-9) went into the locker rooms down 21-0 and managed just five points against BC. They also weren’t able to get a single sack against Mike Reilly.

These two teams will run it back in the nation’s capital this week, and with the Argos nipping at their heels, every game is crucial for Ottawa now — the Boatmen and REDBLACKS also play two more head-to-head games before the end of the season.

PICK: Correct

Hamilton 18, Calgary 19

This game served as a tale of two halves.

Hamilton (9-3) was in control for the first half of the game before Calgary (8-4) stormed back to win. Tre Roberson had a skyscraping blocked kick to help the hosts walk away with the victory.

The Stamps are the winners of three straight. They go up against East-Division competition for the next two weeks. If they’re able to come out with a pair of victories, they’ll be well-positioned to push for the West title down the stretch.

PICK: Correct

Montreal 25, Saskatchewan 27

Through three quarters, it looked as though the Alouettes (6-5) might have been able to pull out the road victory at Mosaic Stadium, however, that just wasn’t meant to be.

Saskatchewan (8-4) was down by eight heading into the fourth quarter, but a 17-point final frame — capped off by a Brett Lauther field goal — pushed the Riders over the line.

Saskatchewan has won seven of its last eight games. They take on the Argos in Week 16 before finishing off their season with five straight against in-division matchups.
