Stanback out against Bombers

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes’ feature back will not be in the fold for the team’s game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

William Stanback will not be in the lineup on Saturday.

The 25-year-old has rushed for 954 yards and five touchdowns on 152 carries while adding 287 yards on 28 receptions in 12 games this season.

With Stanback out, the Als will look to Jeremiah Johnson as their main man out of the backfield. Johnson has put up 312 yards and a rushing major on 51 carries in eight appearances this year.

His best game of the campaign came in Week 10 against the Calgary Stampeders, where the 32-year-old rumbled for 107 yards. The following week, he had 54 yards and a touchdown against the Toronto Argonauts during the Touchdown Atlantic game.

The Alouettes will head to IG Field on Saturday for their final game of the year against the Bombers. The two inter-divisional foes will kick off at 4:00 p.m. ET.
