Sutton among Ticats’ inactives for Eastern Final

HAMILTON — Ahead of the Eastern Final on Sunday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have placed running back Tyrell Sutton on the one-game injured list.

Sutton, 32, was signed to the Ticats’ practice roster on Sept. 9. He quickly made his way up the depth chart, providing the team with a solid option down the stretch.

He featured in four games with Hamilton during the regular season, accumulating 203 yards on 35 carries while adding 126 receiving yards and a touchdown on 11 catches.

With Sutton out for the game, Cameron Marshall will be the lead back for the Tabbies. The 27-year-old is no stranger to the role, as he’s filled in on multiple occasions in 2019. He’s also made four appearances, rumbling for 307 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 50 carries.

Maleek Irons and Jackson Bennett will serve as the backups behind Marshall.

After sitting out the team’s season finale against the Toronto Argonauts, receivers Brandon Banks and Bralon Addison, offensive linemen Ryker Matthews and Brandon Revenberg, defensive back Delvin Breaux and defensive lineman Ja’Gared Davis.

Jay Langa will also make his return from the six-game injured list and serve as the third-string WILL linebacker.

The Ticats and Edmonton Eskimos will go head-to-head for a chance to represent the East in the 107th Grey Cup presented by Shaw. Kick-off for the Eastern Final is at 1:00 p.m. ET.
