“Eugene has elite ball skills and has shown great leadership the past few years as a top target in the CFL,” said Geroy Simon, Elks assistant general manager. “He’ll not only lead us on the field but also off. He’s the exact type of guy we need.”

The 29-year-old posted career highs in receptions (91), receiving yards (1,303) and touchdowns (10) in 2022, as he helped the Montreal Alouettes to their first Eastern Final berth since 2014. Lewis was named an East Division All-Star for the third consecutive season and a CFL All-Star for the second year in a row.

His on-field dominance also earned him the East Division’s nomination for Most Outstanding Player.

A look at Lewis’ top plays from 2022 are proof of his weekly highlight-reel worthy antics. Sitting in the prime of his career and with a case to make for the title of top receiver in the league, Lewis will look to add to his impressive resume with Edmonton in 2023.
