Report: Winston October to call REDBLACKS plays

OTTAWA — Ottawa REDBLACKS head coach Rick Campbell says receivers coach Winston October is set to call plays for the team this season, according to a report from TSN1200’s AJ Jakubec.

The news comes just a few weeks after former REDBLACKS offensive coordinator Jaime Elizondo announced his resignation from the team to pursue other opportunities.

October joined the REDBLACKS in 2018 as the team’s receivers coach. The former CFL player was the receivers coach at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia before joining Ottawa. He was also a receivers coach at the Virginia Military Institute.

Before becoming a coach, October suited up for the Montreal Alouettes (1999-2000) and Edmonton Eskimos (2001-2004).
